These drawing were started while I was artist in residence at the National Civil War Centre. After full days in the studio, I would go and have a coffee in all sorts of places and quietly drew onto black paper in little sketchbooks I had made from bits and bobs in the studio. Bit by bit I started using Amazon packaging to paint on. Practically, it gave me the blackest black surface and I love using something that is unloved and likely to have been thrown away. Just recently I have been lucky to visit Belton House, to draw some of the areas the public rarely see. and these will be developing into a series.

Some of these works are available to purchase. Please contact me for details.
