ABOUT STILL LIFE DRAWING CLUB

Still Life Drawing Club is a drawing club for both confident drawers and beginners. Run once a month on a Sunday afternoon at the fantastically atmospheric Letsxcape Together café in Newark market place - the club is about having quiet time to draw in the company of others but also have a place where enriching arty friendships can be made too. All your art materials are provided in the ticket price, along with a hot tea or coffee.

COST: The drawing club is currently £10 per person and a ticket MUST BE BOOKED to attend.

You can come along to one session to see if you like it, there is no commitment to book termly.

WHEN & WHERE IS THE CLUB?

The club is on every last Sunday of the month from 2.30pm until 4.30pm at Letsxcape Together Cafe, Unit 16, Royal Market, Market Square, Newark, Notts NG241BF. Public car parks are available close by.

HISTORY OF THE CLUB

I set up the club with Letsxcape Together café owner Anthony Foxwell in August 2021. I was doing more drawing in cafe’s and wanted to run an event where I could get to meet other artists too. I was living in a village then and felt quite isolated! The aim of the club was always to be low key and no pressure for people to do incredible drawings! Life drawing classes can be very scary for a lot of people and drawing objects always seemed like a much easier and less stressful creative activity. The purpose has always been to make sure there is a quiet space for people to come together and draw and through that conduit, then make new friends too. We live in a very busy world and I firmly believe that drawing can really help calm our busy minds!
